Split Edits,
Do you really want your videos to look professional? Then start making lots of these.
A split edit is something you create in editing. You do edit your video don't you?
Split edits are most often created during a straight cut. It simply means to make the audio or video come in before the other. Example: lets say your talking to a helicopter pilot about his job. Simple interview showing just a head and shoulder shot of this person talking. The only audio is their voice. Then you hear a helicopter sound underneath their voice for a second or two then you cut to video of the helicopter making this sound.
That's it! A split edit just brings the audio or video in one before the other. The reason for this is to soften the cut. If you cut from the person talking to the helicopter with sound and video at the same time it can be a bit jarring. Watch the video then start using them all the time.
